Eleonora has been giving piano lessons to kids for over 30 years.
Her own music education began at Children’s Music School #1 in Chernihiv, Ukraine, with a specialization in piano. To this day, she has incredibly positive memories of its teachers, as well as the creative atmosphere of the school, and in particular, her piano teacher, Natalia Bespalova – one among many talented graduates of Gnessin Russian Academy of Music – with whom she treasures her friendship to this day.
At the age of 15, Eleonora began her studies at Chernihiv’s own local musical college, graduating in 1980 and starting her career as a teacher and accompanist at the Children’s Music School that same year. Her professional relationships and the many concerts she saw at Chernihiv’s Philharmonic Centre – which saw world class performers such as Svyatoslav Richter, Eliso Virsaladze, and Mikhail Pletnev – left her with a deep fondness for music.
Three years after immigrating to Ottawa, Canada, Eleonora established her own music school at home with a number of bright students, many of whom successfully passed RCM examinations, receiving Honours and Honours With Distinction certificates, and performed at the Kiwanis Music Festival.
After several years of working with her students in Ottawa, Eleonora moved to Seattle, Washington with her family. Ten years later, she finds herself back in Ottawa, ready to once again see some young and hardworking students in her studio who love music and are ready to take on the challenge of learning to play the piano.
